Occupational Therapy Support
At Being and Becoming Occupational Therapy, we offer neuroaffirming, strengths-based support for children and teenagers, with a focus on participation, wellbeing and confidence in everyday life.
Support is guided by the young person and their family, and shaped around what feels meaningful, relevant and sustainable. Rather than following a set program, we take time to understand each child’s strengths, experiences and priorities, and work collaboratively to explore what support may be helpful.
Who we support
We work primarily with children and teenagers, generally between the ages of 4 and 18, and alongside the adults who support them. Families often reach out when they’re looking for guidance around participation, routines, wellbeing or identity, or when they’re seeking a respectful, neuroaffirming approach to Occupational Therapy.
If you’re unsure whether this service may be the right fit, you’re always welcome to book a free discovery call and talk it through.

How support may look in everyday life
Occupational Therapy support at Being and Becoming OT focuses on the everyday — the moments, routines and environments that make up a child or teenager’s life.
This may involve exploring ways to support occupational balance, participation in meaningful activities, emotional awareness and wellbeing, or confidence and self-identity. Support evolves over time and responds to the young person’s needs, interests and goals as they change.
The aim is not to change who a young person is, but to support them to navigate daily life in ways that feel manageable, empowering and aligned with what matters to them.
Where sessions take place
Support is offered in environments that are familiar and meaningful to the child or teenager. Sessions may take place in the home, at school or childcare, within community settings, or through limited clinic-based sessions at the BCP Hub in Warners Bay. We currently support families across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens, working flexibly to ensure support fits into everyday life.
Being and Becoming Occupational Therapy accepts NDIS self-managed and plan-managed clients, Medicare Enhanced Primary Health Care Plans, private health insurance and private paying clients. You do not need a referral to make an enquiry or begin a conversation. If you are accessing support through NDIS or Medicare, relevant documentation may be required prior to commencing services.
